The Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed November 20, 2025, for judgment in the terrorism case filed by the Federal Government against the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

The development comes after Kanu forfeited his right to enter a defence in the case.

The court reached the decision following repeated delays and Kanu’s refusal to open his defence, despite being given several opportunities to do so.

Justice James Omotosho, who is presiding over the matter, confirmed that the judgment date has been set, marking a decisive phase in the long-running terrorism trial.

Kanu, who has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since his re-arrest and extradition to Nigeria in 2021, faces charges bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony, and incitement against the Nigerian state.

The court is expected to deliver its ruling on November 20, determining whether Kanu is guilty of the alleged offences or will be acquitted.
