As APC prepares to receive Abba Yusuf, Ganduje knocks Kwankwaso’s comment

Former Kano State Governor and immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has expressed dissatisfaction over comments reportedly attributed to Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, in which he allegedly described Ganduje as an enemy.

Ganduje’s reaction was conveyed on Monday by the Director-General of the National Productivity Centre, Dr. Baffa Babba Dan’agundi, who said the former APC chairman considered the remarks ill-timed and unhelpful, particularly given the political atmosphere in Kano State.

According to Dan’agundi, Ganduje made it clear that he was unhappy with the statement, stressing that such rhetoric does not promote peace or collective progress in the state.

“Dr. Ganduje told me plainly that he was not pleased at all with the comments made by Senator Kwankwaso against him,” Dan’agundi said.

He added that Ganduje viewed the remarks as unnecessary, especially at a period when political alignments and consultations are ongoing in Kano.

Dan’agundi further alleged that the statement was made by Kwankwaso while addressing his supporters in the state, describing it as counterproductive at a time when Kano requires cooperation rather than division.

Meanwhile, Dan’agundi spoke on the reported plan by Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, to rejoin the APC, describing the development as a welcome one for the party and its supporters.

According to him, APC leaders, stakeholders and supporters across Kano State are enthusiastic about the governor’s return and are ready to work with him to advance governance and development.

“It is a source of joy for us. There is excitement among APC leaders and supporters in Kano, and we are prepared to give the governor full support and cooperation,” he said.

He confirmed that arrangements to formally receive Governor Yusuf into the APC were already at an advanced stage at both the state and national levels.

Dan’agundi explained that consultations were ongoing, with minor delays caused by the Umrah pilgrimage of the Kano State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, and Ganduje’s temporary stay outside the country.

“Once they return, a special meeting will be convened with His Excellency Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and his delegation to finalise the process,” he assured.

If you want, I can also tighten this into a breaking-news format, add political background on the Ganduje–Kwankwaso rivalry, or reshape it into an analysis piece for wider national appeal.
