Bauchi, Kano, Delta Niger ADC adopts Atiku as sole presidential candidate
Atiku Abubakar has been adopted as the sole presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress by party stakeholders in Bauchi, Kano, Delta, and Niger states ahead of the party’s presidential primaries scheduled for tomorrow.
The endorsements, coming from multiple state structures, were reportedly based on Atiku’s experience in governance, political reach, and perceived ability to mount a strong challenge in the 2027 general elections.
The ADC presidential primary is expected to feature three main contenders: Atiku Abubakar, former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, and economist Hayatu-Deen Mohammed, as the party moves to select its flagbearer through its internal democratic process.
Party insiders say the growing wave of endorsements across several states reflects early momentum within sections of the ADC, even as other aspirants continue to contest the ticket ahead of the nationwide delegate exercise.
Very Nigerian had earlier reported that the Kaduna and Kebbi ADC chapters had also endorsed Atiku, further strengthening what appears to be a widening pattern of state-level backing across the party ahead of the primaries.
