A faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Adamawa State has announced the suspension of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
The decision was made public on Monday by the faction’s state chairman, Raji Sulaiman Zumo.
Also affected by the suspension is former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal.
Very Nigerian recalls that a faction of the ADC led by Nafiu Bala Gombe is laying claim to the position of national chairman of the party.
The development prompted the decision of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to derecognize the leadership of the ADC under former Senate President David Mark.
