BREAKING: Ex-VP Atiku Abubakar picks ADC presidential nomination form
Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has obtained the presidential nomination form of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, in what signals renewed ambition within the opposition space.
The nomination form was reportedly picked up on his behalf by his son, Adamu Atiku, as the former Vice President was said to be out of the country on international engagements at the time.
The development comes shortly after former Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, also picked up the ADC presidential nomination form, valued at N90 million, further intensifying competition within the party’s emerging presidential race.
Both moves highlight growing activity within the ADC as political heavyweights reposition themselves ahead of the 2027 elections, with the party increasingly drawing high-profile aspirants from across Nigeria’s political spectrum.
Party officials are yet to comment on the implications of multiple top contenders emerging under its platform, but observers say the developments could set the stage for a highly contested primary season.
The ADC has in recent months been attracting increased attention following internal realignments in the opposition bloc and shifting alliances among key political figures.
