BREAKING: FG declares two-day Public Holidays for Easter celebration
The Federal Government has announced Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6, 2026, as public holidays in observance of this year’s Easter celebrations.
Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Minister of Interior, disclosed this on Wednesday, congratulating Christians across Nigeria and in the diaspora.
He urged citizens to reflect on the virtues of the season, including selflessness, forgiveness, forbearance, and love, as exemplified by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
“Easter is a period that reminds us of the values of tolerance and community that keep us together as a nation. Nigerians should remain committed to these ideals for the progress of our country,” Tunji-Ojo said, emphasizing unity and peaceful coexistence.
The minister also reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to policies promoting national development, economic growth, and shared prosperity for all Nigerians.
He wished Christians a peaceful and joyous Easter celebration, highlighting the importance of the season as a time for reflection and renewal.
