BREAKING: Peter Obi holds closed-door meeting with Gov Seyi Makinde in Ibadan
The 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, is currently in a closed-door meeting with Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, at the Oyo State Government House in Ibadan.
Obi was accompanied to the meeting by Igbo elders, African Democratic Congress (ADC) senators from the South-East, and other political associates.
Although details of the discussions have not been made public, the meeting is believed to be part of Obi’s ongoing political consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The engagement comes barely 24 hours after Obi met behind closed doors with former President Goodluck Jonathan, as he continues consultations with key political stakeholders across the country.
Obi has in recent weeks intensified engagements with political leaders nationwide, amid speculation over possible alignments ahead of the ADC primary election and broader opposition realignments.
He is yet to brief the press on the outcome of the Ibadan meeting.
