Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State looks set for a second term as he continues to maintain a comfortable lead in the ongoing collation of results from Saturday’s governorship election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) began collating figures from the 21 local government areas around 2:10 a.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at its headquarters in Awka.

The atmosphere was tense but orderly, with journalists, observers, and party representatives closely monitoring the process.

From the official results announced so far, Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is far ahead of his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

APGA has recorded a total of 422,664 votes, while APC trails with 99,445 votes. The Labour Party (LP) follows with 10,505 votes, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has 1,401 votes.

With all 21 local government areas now declared, Soludo’s wide margin places him in a commanding position for re-election as INEC prepares to make its final announcement.
