BREAKING: Wike’a ally Sandy Onor picks PDP Presidential nomination form to challenge Tinubu in 2027
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially unveiled its first presidential aspirant for the 2027 general elections, as Senator Sandy Onor formally obtained his nomination form at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
Onor received the nomination forms at Wadada Plaza, Wuse District, Abuja, where he was presented with the documents by the party’s National Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed.
The former senator, who represented Cross River Central Senatorial District in the 9th National Assembly from 2019 to 2023, is seeking the PDP presidential ticket to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 election.
Born on February 14, 1966, Onor is expected to kickstart consultations and nationwide engagements as part of his bid for the party’s highest ticket.
His entry into the race marks an early formal step in what is expected to be a highly competitive internal contest within the PDP ahead of the next general elections.
Party officials say more aspirants are expected to join the race in the coming months as the PDP begins to structure its primaries and zoning consultations.
For now, Onor stands as the first officially declared presidential hopeful under the party’s 2027 electoral roadmap.
