Davido visits Sierra Leone President ahead of AFCON 2025 concert
Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to President Julius Maada Bio of Sierra Leone in Freetown ahead of his rescheduled beach concert linked to the ongoing AFCON 2025 celebrations.
The visit formed part of activities surrounding Davido’s 5ive Alive World Tour, with the singer describing Sierra Leone as his “second home” during the meeting.
He also assured fans in the country that he plans to return in the future for a full stadium concert.
Davido recalled his previous visit to Sierra Leone in 2017, saying the performance attracted more than 50,000 fans. He described the experience as memorable and praised the love and support he received from Sierra Leoneans.
The Afrobeats star’s appearance has continued to generate excitement among fans, as his concert is expected to add colour to the AFCON 2025 festivities taking place in the country.
President Bio welcomed the artiste warmly, noting the excitement generated by his visit and the anticipation surrounding the concert.
Photos from the meeting have since sparked reactions online, with fans highlighting Davido’s growing global profile following similar high-level engagements this year with Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu and France’s President Emmanuel Macron.
