Amid swirling defection rumours in Abia State, prominent political rivals Benjamin Kalu and Orji Uzor Kalu have publicly celebrated Governor Alex Otti on his 61st birthday.

Benjamin Kalu, representing Bende Federal Constituency, took to his verified Facebook page to extend warm wishes to the governor.

“Hearty Congratulations, Your Excellency, Dr. Otti on Your 61st Birthday. On behalf of my family and the good people of Bende Federal Constituency of Abia State, I heartily congratulate my big brother, friend and governor… I commend your commitment to the development of our dear State, Abia.

“The call for more work is to better the lot of our people and does not diminish the efforts already made. While I acknowledge the challenges of governance, I do have explicit confidence in the collective approach and ability of all stakeholders to continue driving positive change for the good of the State.”

“I am always committed to partnering with you to build a brighter future for our State. I wish you many more years in good health. Happy Birthday, Your Excellency.”

Similarly, Orji Uzor Kalu described Governor Otti as a “dear brother” and offered prayers for good health and strength.

“On the occasion of your birthday, I extend my warm wishes to you and your family. May this new year bring you good health, renewed strength, and continued grace in the discharge of your responsibilities. I wish you a peaceful and fulfilling year ahead.”

The public display of goodwill from key political figures comes at a time when speculation continues over possible political realignments in Abia.

However, Governor Otti has consistently maintained his commitment to his current political platform.
