EPL: Haaland penalty secures dramatic Manchester City win at Liverpool
City’s late victory keeps them in the title race, reducing Arsenal’s Premier League lead to six points.
Manchester City snatched a thrilling 2-1 victory over Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, thanks to a stoppage-time penalty from Erling Haaland, cutting Arsenal’s Premier League lead back to six points.
Liverpool appeared set for a win after Dominik Szoboszlai curled in a stunning free-kick. However, City fought back, with Bernardo Silva equalising late to set up a tense finale.
In stoppage time, Haaland calmly converted a penalty to seal the win for City. The match saw further drama as City had another goal ruled out and Szoboszlai was sent off following a VAR review.
The result keeps Manchester City firmly in the title race, while Liverpool suffers a setback in their hunt for European qualification.
