Former Benue Assembly Speaker Hyacinth Dajoh resigns from APC, joins PDP
Former Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Hon. Hyacinth Dajoh, has officially defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to a statement issued by his media aide, Agber Kulugh, Dajoh’s defection was confirmed in Makurdi, where he was formally received into the PDP by former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom.
The statement noted that Dajoh’s decision to leave the APC followed prolonged internal disagreements and failed reconciliation efforts within the party.
Dajoh also participated in the PDP Benue North-West Senatorial Primary Election held in Makurdi, where Eunice Ortom was affirmed as the party’s senatorial candidate.
He reportedly reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive governance, unity, and community development, stating that his political decisions would continue to reflect the interests of constituents in Gboko West and Benue State at large.
The development adds to ongoing political realignments within Benue State ahead of future electoral contests.
