Former Gombe ADC chairman resigns, defects to PDP to back Pantami’s 2027 governorship bid
Former Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Gombe State, Danladi Ya’u, has resigned from the party and defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Ya’u announced his resignation in a letter dated Monday and addressed to the ADC ward chairmen of Kwado, Kiji and Kurba.
In the letter, he stated that he was resigning as the party’s former State Chairman, current State Auditor and as a member of the ADC with immediate effect.
According to him, his decision was motivated by his support for the PDP governorship candidate and former Nigerian minister, Professor Isa Ali Pantami.
«”I hereby formally resign from my position as the former State Chairman and currently serving as State Auditor of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Gombe State Chapter, and also resign my membership of the party with immediate effect.»
«”I have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to support the candidature of Prof. Isa Ali Pantami in the 2027 governorship race,” Ya’u stated in his resignation letter.»
