Fubara vows cooperation with Rivers Assembly, congratulates APC Bye-Election winners
The bye-elections, conducted on February 21 by INEC, were held to fill vacant seats in the Rivers State Assembly.
Governor Siminalayi Fubara has pledged to maintain a cordial working relationship with members of the Rivers State House of Assembly in order to advance development and improve the welfare of residents.
The governor made the commitment while congratulating Ukalikpe Napoleon and Loolo Bulabari Henrietta, winners of the recent bye-elections conducted in Ahoada East II and Khana State II constituencies.
The bye-elections, organised by the Independent National Electoral Commission on February 21, were held to fill vacant legislative seats in the state assembly. Both candidates, who contested on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, emerged victorious in their respective constituencies.
Napoleon secured victory in Ahoada East II constituency, while Henrietta won the Khana State II seat.
Fubara described their victories as a reflection of the confidence reposed in them by the electorate and urged the new lawmakers to justify the mandate given to them through effective representation.
He emphasised that democratic governance thrives when elected officials remain accountable to the people.
According to the governor, the electoral outcome demonstrated that voters reward candidates they consider capable and trustworthy.
