Global attention needed on Nigeria’s Christian communities, says Nicki Minaj at UN

US rapper Nicki Minaj on Tuesday drew global attention to the plight of Christians in Nigeria during a visit to the United Nations headquarters.

She warned that Christian communities are “being targeted, driven from their homes, and killed,” urging the international community to take action.

Minaj was invited by Mike Waltz, the US ambassador to the UN, for a discussion on efforts to protect Christians’ freedoms worldwide.

She praised US President Donald Trump for prioritizing the issue and pushing for international intervention to “combat extremism” and end the violence against those exercising their right to religious freedom.

Speaking passionately about the situation in Nigeria, Minaj highlighted that entire communities live in fear, churches have been destroyed, and families torn apart.

She stressed that protecting Christians is not about taking sides but about uniting humanity against violence and oppression.

Minaj also underscored that attacks on any place of worship, church or mosque, should concern the world.

“When one’s church, mosque, or place of worship is destroyed, everyone’s heart should break just a little bit,” she said.

The artiste called for global solidarity, urging governments and communities to work together to ensure that everyone can enjoy the right to believe, worship, and live in peace.
