The development was announced in a statement issued on Thursday by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Musa Ikhilor.

According to the statement, Itua is to hand over immediately and await a new assignment that will be communicated to him in due course.

The government described Dr. Ebojele as a seasoned journalist, public administrator, researcher and academic with a distinguished record across media practice, public affairs and the university system.

“This new appointment reflects the commitment of the present administration to strengthen and deepen communication channels between the Government and the people of Edo State,” the statement said.

It added that the Governor is focused on ensuring clarity, transparency and effective dissemination of government policies, programmes and activities.

Dr. Ebojele’s journalism career includes stints as the Edo/Delta Correspondent for Channels Television and previous roles with New Nigerian Newspaper, Champion Newspaper and Comet Newspapers.

The government expressed appreciation to the outgoing CPS, Mr. Fred Itua, lauding his contributions and service during his time in office.
