Gunmen attack Ondo clinic, abduct six health workers
No fewer than six health workers have reportedly been kidnapped following a late-night attack on a health centre in the Oke Ijebu area of Akure, Ondo State.
Eyewitnesses said the attackers stormed the facility at about 2:00 a.m., arriving in a bus and forcing their way into the health centre located opposite Mega School.
The gunmen were said to have gathered all staff on duty at the time, including interns, before taking them away in the waiting vehicle to an unknown destination.
Patients receiving treatment at the time of the attack were reportedly left unharmed, though visibly shaken by the ordeal.
Residents in the vicinity expressed deep concern over the incident, describing it as alarming and urging immediate intervention by security agencies to secure the safe release of the abducted health workers and prevent further attacks.
As of the time of reporting, authorities have not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
