How I was forced out of PDP, APC – Amaechi
Former Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has explained the reasons behind his decision to quit both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Amaechi, now a leading presidential aspirant under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), made the disclosure during an interview on Channels Television on Friday.
He alleged that former President, Goodluck Jonathan, alongside his wife, Patience Jonathan, pushed him out of the PDP after he took control of the party’s structure in Rivers State.
According to him, a similar situation played out in the APC following his participation in the party’s presidential primary, where he contested against the current president, Bola Tinubu.
Amaechi’s comments add fresh insight into the political tensions and internal struggles that have shaped his movement across major parties, as he now seeks the presidency under a new platform.
Asked to explain his reason for moving from one party to another, Amaechi said, “I was chased out of PDP, APC by the then president.
“The president and his wife took over the party structure in Rivers State and chased me out. The same thing happened in APC.”
