Iconic Nollywood Actor Yinka Quadri celebrates arrival of grandchild
Veteran Yoruba actor Yinka Quadri has become a grandfather, celebrating the arrival of his grandchild with heartfelt joy.
The Nollywood icon shared the exciting news on Instagram, posting photos and videos of himself with his daughter, Juwon, and the newborn.
The posts captured tender family moments as the proud grandfather expressed gratitude and happiness over the new addition to the Quadri family.
He described the childbirth as “double celebrations” as it coincided with the premiere of his new film on his YouTube channel.
“Double celebrations. My joy is full and my good news is making me happy. Joy is overflowing,” he wrote.
“‘Orukawura’ will be showing today via YINKA QUADRI TV on YouTube from 2pm. Also, my daughter Juwon gave birth to a bouncing baby girl today. A joyful moment.”
Quadri began his acting career in 1976 after he and Taiwo Olayinka, alongside a group of friends, formed a drama troupe known as the Afopina Theatre Group, following his decision to drop out of school.
He made his screen debut in the television series ‘Agbodorogun’ and has featured in hundreds of films, including ‘Gangs of Lagos’, ‘Move Like a Boss’, ‘Okinni’, ‘The Return of Jenifa’, ‘Owo Blow’, and ’77 Bullets’.
Over the years, Quadri has become a household name in the Nigerian film industry.
In 2024, he opened up about how rumours of his death caused unnecessary “stress and anxiety” for his children who were abroad at the time, as well as for other members of his family.
