INEC commences PVC distribution in Abuja ahead of Feb 21 Council elections
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has started distributing Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the February 21 Area Council elections in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The commission made the announcement in a statement shared on its official X handle on Tuesday, urging eligible voters in the FCT to collect their PVCs.
INEC said the collection will take place at voters’ registration areas (wards) from January 22 to January 26, between 9 am and 3 pm daily.
The commission also noted that eligible voters who are unable to collect their PVCs during this period can still pick them up later at the INEC Area Council offices across the FCT.
It said, “Dear #FCT Resident, as we prepare for the February 21st Area Council Election, INEC is bringing your PVC closer to you. Don’t miss the chance to collect your PVC in the FCT.
“From Jan 22–26, 9 am –3 pm daily, visit your Registration Area (Ward) to collect your Permanent Voter Card (PVC). After the 26th, collection continues at INEC Area Council Offices.”
The commission encouraged residents of the FCT to participate in the exercise and urged them to track their collection using the link https://cvr.inecinigeria.org/Locator.
The February 21 election, set to run from 8:30 a.m., will see 17 political parties vying for positions across the FCT’s 62 wards.
