JUST-IN: Court orders Damagum-led PDP to conduct National Convention in Oyo

An Oyo State High Court has directed the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, to proceed with the party’s national convention scheduled for November 15 in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Justice A.L. Akintola gave the order on Monday after hearing an ex parte motion filed by Folahan Malomo Adelabi.

Very Nigerian reports that the PDP crisis deepened on Saturday when the Damagum-led National Working Committee (NWC) suspended four top party officials.

In a swift reaction, a faction loyal to National Secretary Senator Samuel Anyanwu announced the suspension of Damagum and other key officers, further dividing the party’s leadership.
