Kano Rep, Abdulmumin Jibrin, dumps NNPP, rejoins to APC
Rep. Abdulmumin Jibrin (NNPP-Kano State) has officially rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC) and pledged his support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Monday by Jibrin, who represents Kiru and Bebeji Constituency in Kano, following his renunciation of membership in the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the Kwankwasiyya Movement led by former Kano State Governor, Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Jibrin formally declared his return to the APC on Sunday in his hometown of Kofa, Bebeji Local Government Area, where he was warmly received by thousands of constituents.
Over 2,000 Islamic clerics (Ulamas) prayed for President Tinubu, as well as for peace and development in Kano State and across Nigeria.
His return comes two months after being expelled from the NNPP over alleged anti-party activities and non-payment of membership dues.
Jibrin thanked the NNPP for their past support and urged his followers to join him on his new political journey with the APC.
