A prominent figure within the Kwankwasiyya movement in Dala Local Government Area of Kano State, Hon. Kabiru Adamu Abdullahi, has resigned his membership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In a resignation letter dated May 1, 2026, and addressed to the party chairman of Kofar Ruwa Ward, Abdullahi announced his immediate withdrawal from the party.

“I hereby formally resign my membership of All Democratic Congress (ADC) at Kofar Ruwa Ward with immediate effect,” he stated.

He expressed appreciation for his time in the party and wished its leadership success in future political engagements, adding that the resignation should be communicated to the appropriate authorities.

Abdullahi, who is also a House of Assembly aspirant, is regarded as one of the influential Kwankwasiyya loyalists in Dala. In a separate Facebook post, he tied his decision to the directive of the movement’s leader, referring to him as “Jagora,” a term used for former Kano governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

“This is the order of Jagora,” he wrote.

The development is seen as part of the ongoing political realignments within the Kwankwasiyya movement as consultations intensify over possible future political directions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
