Making of Tinubu’s almost 11 Million votes” – Onanuga releases state-by-state APC Primary breakdown
Presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, has published a detailed breakdown of how President Bola Ahmed Tinubu secured nearly 11 million votes in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Posting on X, Onanuga described the figures as the “making” of Tinubu’s 10,999,162 votes, listing contributions from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
According to the breakdown, Lagos led with 814,988 votes, followed by Adamawa with 644,149, Kaduna with 618,914, Imo with 582,960, Kano with 500,852, and Katsina with 467,003. Other major contributions included Gombe (450,517), Borno (414,988), Delta (407,646), Akwa Ibom (389,197), Enugu (383,382), and Benue (374,787).
Additional figures showed Plateau (241,720), Bayelsa (227,192), Ebonyi (207,579), Jigawa (206,520), Kogi (197,370), Taraba (183,698), Ondo (181,996), Niger (175,487), Abia (161,005), Bauchi (156,541), and Ogun (322,485).
In the South-West, Ogun recorded 322,485 votes, Osun 100,888, Oyo 142,754, Ekiti 85,340, while Anambra recorded 43,034 votes. The Federal Capital Territory posted 36,103 votes.
Other states listed include Zamfara (321,579), Kwara (310,990), Sokoto (301,000), Kebbi (292,972), Nasarawa (285,436), Rivers (280,082), Yobe (253,804), Cross River (113,911), Edo (121,098), and others.
The publication comes amid ongoing public debate over the credibility and scale of the reported figures from the APC direct primary election, with critics questioning the unusually high turnout compared to the 2023 general election results.
As of press time, the APC has maintained that the figures reflect participation across its nationwide ward-based direct primary structure.
