Marrying a rich man shouldn’t be your goal, focus on building your own wealth — Rudeboy’s wife Ivy
Ivy Ifeoma, wife of Nigerian singer Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has advised women against making marriage to a wealthy man their primary life ambition, stressing the importance of financial independence and self-development.
Speaking in a video shared on her TikTok page, Ifeoma said women should focus on building their own wealth and securing their financial future rather than relying on a partner’s success.
She also addressed criticisms surrounding her marriage to the singer, including claims that she married him because of his wealth and the age difference between them.
According to her, she had already achieved financial success before meeting and marrying Paul Okoye.
“This is my take on the idea of marrying a rich man, and before you come for me, know that I was a millionaire before I met this man,” she said.
Ifeoma maintained that while marrying a wealthy partner can create opportunities, it should not be viewed as a woman’s ultimate goal.
“Marrying a rich man should not be anybody’s primary goal. Why would you even want to have a primary goal of marrying someone because they are rich? At the end of the day, it is their money, not your money,” she stated.
She noted that financial independence offers long-term security and personal fulfillment, encouraging women to work towards their own success.
“Don’t get me wrong, marrying rich is a very good add-on because it can open doors of opportunities for you. But what I will tell you to do as a woman is to get rich,” she added.
Ifeoma further argued that successful and wealthy individuals often admire ambition, hard work and self-sufficiency in a partner.
She urged single women to prioritise self-improvement, career growth and financial stability rather than placing wealth at the centre of their choice of a life partner.
The social media personality and her husband, Paul Okoye, have continued to attract public attention, particularly due to the age gap between them.
