Mikel Merino scored twice in the second half to help Arsenal secure a commanding 3–0 victory over Slavia Prague in their Champions League clash on Tuesday, extending the Gunners’ flawless run in the competition.

The win marked Arsenal’s fourth consecutive Champions League victory, their 10th straight triumph in all competitions, and their eighth consecutive clean sheet.

The Premier League leaders have now scored 11 goals and conceded none in the Champions League this season.

Bukayo Saka opened the scoring in the 32nd minute from the penalty spot after Slavia captain Lukas Provod handled the ball inside the box. Merino doubled the lead just 30 seconds into the second half, finishing off Leandro Trossard’s perfect pass with a volley at the near post. He later completed his brace in the 68th minute with a powerful header from Declan Rice’s cross.

The match also produced a historic moment as 15-year-old Max Dowman became the youngest-ever player to feature in a Champions League game when he came on in the 73rd minute.

Despite missing key forwards Viktor Gyokeres, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Martinelli, Arsenal dominated the game, controlling possession and creating numerous chances. Saka had three shots on goal within eight minutes in the first half but was denied each time by Slavia’s goalkeeper, Jakub Markovic.

Slavia, who failed to register a single shot on target, remain bottom of their group with just two points from four games. Arsenal’s defense, led by Gabriel Magalhães, stood firm throughout, maintaining their remarkable defensive record in Europe this season.
