NECO opens portal to recruit 22,000 Supervisors (How To Apply)

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced the commencement of recruitment for over 22,000 supervisors ahead of the 2026 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal, while warning members of the public against fraudulent recruitment portals.

In a statement, the examination body alerted prospective applicants to the existence of fake websites claiming to recruit examination supervisors and demanding payments as well as submission of academic credentials before consideration.

NECO clarified that it does not charge any fee for the recruitment of supervisors and advised interested applicants to disregard any portal requesting payment.

The council explained that, following recommendations by the Ministerial Committee on the Improvement of Quality of Examination in Nigeria, it has migrated from the traditional analogue recruitment process to a fully electronic system.

According to NECO, qualified pensionable teachers on Grade Level 12 and above, who are at least 30 years old, are eligible to apply to serve as supervisors for the 2026 SSCE Internal examination through its official recruitment portal, supervisor.neco.gov.ng/.

The council stressed that the recruitment process is completely automated and does not require the involvement of any third party.

NECO noted that the new digital recruitment system was introduced to curb fraud, reduce examination malpractice and enhance fairness, transparency and credibility in the conduct of examinations across the country.

The examination body disclosed that more than 22,000 supervisors would be recruited for the smooth conduct of the 2026 SSCE Internal examination, which is scheduled to commence on June 15, 2026.

It urged applicants and members of the public to remain vigilant and only use the official NECO recruitment platform for all applications related to the exercise.
