Nenadi Usman set to assume duty as LP first female Chair

All is set for Senator Nenadi Usman to officially take over the National Secretariat of the Labour Party (LP), making her arguably the first female National Chairman of a major political party in Nigeria.
The party secretariat, located in Utako District, Abuja, was previously controlled by the Julius Abure-led faction. However, a recent ruling by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officially recognised Usman and her team, clearing the way for the takeover.
Already, a banner bearing the photographs of Usman and the acting National Secretary, Senator Darlington Nwochocha, is being hoisted around the building preparatory to an event signalling the beginning of a new era.
