Notorious bandit kingpin Kachalla killed in gun battle in Zamfara
A notorious bandit kingpin, popularly known as Kachalla Sani Yellow, has been killed by members of the Hunters’ group and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) during a gun battle in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
According to reports, the bandit commander was neutralised after the local security operatives repelled an attack launched by armed bandits in the area.
Kachalla Sani Yellow was regarded as one of the most influential bandit leaders operating across Anka, Bukkuyum and Maru Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.
He was also reportedly among the commanders accused of coordinating several deadly attacks on communities across Nigeria’s North-West region.
Confirming the development, the spokesperson for the Zamfara State Police Command, DSP Yazid Abubakar, said the notorious bandit leader was killed during the operation.
Following the incident, images said to be of the deceased bandit circulated widely on social media. The photographs showed his remains after they had been mutilated.
Authorities have yet to release further details on the operation or any additional casualties.
