An officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has tragically lost his life during the distribution of Ramadan and Sallah palliatives in Tudun Wada Local Government Area of Kano State.

The incident occurred on Friday during a programme organised by the member representing Doguwa/Tudun Wada constituency in the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa. The lawmaker alleged that the officer was killed following an attempt by hoodlums to disrupt the distribution.

Expressing shock, Doguwa condoled with the Civil Defence Corps, the family of the deceased officer, and the people of Tudun Wada. “May Allah grant him mercy and forgiveness,” he said.

He called on security agencies to immediately investigate the incident and bring those responsible to justice. Doguwa also cautioned against false information and defamatory claims linking him directly to the violence, stressing that legal measures would be taken to protect his integrity and that of his constituents.

The lawmaker prayed for the repose of the officer’s soul and noted that the incident highlights the need for vigilance during public gatherings. He confirmed that he personally supervised the distribution of food items and support materials to residents.
