Outrage as Cross River Lawmaker allegedly brutalizes wife (Photo)
A member of the Cross River State House of Assembly representing Obubra 1 Constituency, Hon Ovat Dickson Agbor has allegedly assaulted his wife following claims of infidelity.
Sources familiar with the incident said the lawmaker accused his wife of cheating on him. The situation reportedly happened last Saturday at the Assembly quarters in Calabar.
According to sources who spoke to this reporter, the lawmaker had earlier accused his wife of drinking and sleeping with other men during a public gathering held within the Assembly quarters. The accusation reportedly led to a heated argument between the couple when they later returned home.
A source said, “When they returned home, they began to argue, which escalated into a physical fight, resulting in him beating her.”
When contacted for comments, the woman dismissed the issue and declined to give further details. She said, “Nothing happened. Just stay off. We will sort it out.”
