PDP Convention: Makinde holds last-minute peace meeting with Sule Lamido
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Friday paid a visit to former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido at his Abuja residence in a last-minute effort to calm rising tensions within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the ongoing battle for the national chairmanship position.
Makinde, who arrived with Senator Abdul Ningi and other key PDP stakeholders, engaged Lamido in discussions aimed at reconciling aggrieved factions and preventing further escalation of the party’s internal dispute.
The meeting comes amid growing disagreements among PDP leaders, with competing blocs insisting on different candidates for the national chairmanship role.
Makinde’s intervention is seen as part of a broader push by senior party figures to restore unity ahead the convention holding tomorrow in Ibadan.
More to come.
