The Abia State Police Command has begun a search for a local vigilante member accused of killing his girlfriend, injuring her sister, and shooting another man in Amakama, Ubakala, in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Maureen Chinaka, in a statement released on Thursday, the command received a report about the incident in the Umuanga Amakama community involving a man identified as Chinedu Anamelechi.
He is alleged to have shot and killed his girlfriend, Ezinne Ariwodo, stabbed her sister, and also shot another young man in the area. The police said efforts are ongoing to locate and arrest the suspect so he can be brought to justice.

She disclosed that the injured victims were rescued and rushed to the hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
The deceased, she said, was confirmed dead by medical personnel and has been deposited in the morgue for preservation and autopsy. Exhibits recovered from the scene were taken in for analysis.
Chinaka said normalcy had since been restored in the area and urged members of the community not to take the law into their hands.
