‘She is a ‘dream Starrgirl’ who changed my life – Don Jazzy praises Ayra Starr
Mavin Records boss Michael Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has praised Afrobeats singer Ayra Starr, saying the young star has had a major impact on his life and career.
The veteran music executive described Ayra Starr as nothing short of a “dream Starrgirl” while reacting to a fan who commended his contribution to her success.
Don Jazzy made the remark in a post on X, where he acknowledged the singer’s influence and expressed his appreciation for having her in his life.
Ayra Starr, who joined Mavin Records as a teenager, has grown into one of Nigeria’s leading Afrobeats stars, recording several hit songs and gaining international recognition.
“She has most definitely changed my own life too. I bless the day I was shown her Instagram freestyle o. And she has been nothing but a dream Starrgirl,” Don Jazzy wrote.
The Mavin CEO discovered Ayra Starr through her viral freestyles on social media before signing her to the label in 2021.
Since then, she has become one of Afrobeats’ leading voices, with international collaborations and chart success.
Ayra Starr released her third studio album, Starrgirl, on August 14.
