Step-by-step guide to applying for the FG’s Agricultural Quarantine Service recruitment
The Federal Government has commenced recruitment into the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS), inviting qualified Nigerians to apply for vacancies in the Superintendent, Inspectorate and Assistant Cadres.
The recruitment exercise opened on 28 July 2026 and will close on 10 August 2026. Successful applicants will proceed to the next stages of the recruitment process, including a Computer-Based Test (CBT) and interview.
According to the Federal Character Commission, the recruitment is free of charge, and all applications must be submitted through the official NAQS recruitment portal.
Available Positions
Superintendent Cadre
Applications are invited for the following positions:
- Chief Superintendent of Quarantine Care (Veterinary Doctors)
- Deputy Superintendent of Quarantine
- Assistant Superintendent of Quarantine II
Inspectorate Cadre
Vacancies are available for:
- Inspector of Quarantine I
- Inspector of Quarantine II
- Inspector of Quarantine III
Assistant Cadre
Applications are also invited for:
- Quarantine Assistant I
- Quarantine Assistant II
- Quarantine Assistant III
Educational Qualifications
Chief Superintendent of Quarantine Care
Applicants must possess:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree.
- NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.
Deputy Superintendent of Quarantine
Applicants must possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law or a Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline.
- NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.
Assistant Superintendent of Quarantine II
Applicants must possess:
- A minimum of a First Degree from a recognised institution.
- NYSC Discharge Certificate.
Inspectorate Cadre
Applicants must possess either:
- Ordinary National Diploma (OND), or
- Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE).
Assistant Cadre
Applicants must possess:
- SSCE, NECO or GCE Ordinary Level.
- At least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics.
- Results obtained in not more than two sittings.
General Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be Nigerian by birth.
- Possess a valid National Identification Number (NIN).
- Be medically fit and provide a certificate of fitness from a government hospital.
- Pass a drug test.
- Be of good character with no criminal conviction.
- Not belong to any secret cult or society.
- Be free from financial embarrassment.
- Be computer literate.
Physical Requirements
Male applicants must:
- Be at least 1.65 metres tall.
- Have a minimum chest measurement of 0.87 metres.
Female applicants must:
- Be at least 1.55 metres tall.
The agency advised that applicants with severe speech or hearing impairment, total blindness, obesity, limb deformities or other medical conditions that may affect the recruitment process should not apply.
Pregnant women are also advised not to apply because of the physical demands of the exercise.

- Create an account or log in.
- Select the preferred cadre and position.
- Complete the online application form with accurate personal and educational information.
- Upload all required credentials and supporting documents.
- Review the application carefully before submitting it online.
Recruitment Schedule
- Application Opens: 28 July 2026
- Application Closes: 10 August 2026
- Shortlisting of Successful Candidates: 13 August 2026
- Computer-Based Test (CBT) and Interviews: 15 August 2026
Important Notice
The Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service advised applicants to rely only on the official recruitment portal for information relating to the exercise.
The agency also warned members of the public not to pay anyone for employment, stressing that the recruitment process is completely free and that applications submitted after the deadline or outside the approved procedure will not be considered.
