ExxonMobil Nigeria opens recruitment for seven technical specialist and supervisor positions (How to apply)
ExxonMobil has commenced recruitment for seven experienced technical specialists and supervisors to support its Nigeria operations across maintenance, process operations, integrity management, mechanical, instrumentation, electrical and industrial control systems.
The positions are based offshore or in Lagos with regular offshore visits. The company is seeking experienced oil and gas professionals with 3 to 10 years of relevant industry experience, while previous FPSO (Floating Production Storage and Offloading) experience will be an added advantage for most roles.

1. Maintenance Coordinator
Location: Offshore, Nigeria
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate maintenance materials and procurement activities.
- Support maintenance planning and work execution.
- Process material returns and shipping arrangements.
- Update maintenance work orders and job status.
- Reconcile departmental materials and contract invoices.
Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Materials, Corrosion, Offshore/Marine, Structural Engineering, Metallurgy or Petroleum Engineering. A Bachelor’s degree is also acceptable.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in oil and gas maintenance.
- Knowledge of SAP/CMMS and maintenance work management systems.
- Good understanding of P&IDs, Emergency Shutdown (ESD) and Fire & Gas systems.
- Previous offshore or FPSO experience is an advantage.
2. Process Technician
Location: Offshore, Nigeria
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor production processes and equipment performance.
- Conduct routine surveillance and sampling activities.
- Support troubleshooting and production optimisation.
- Ensure compliance with Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures.
- Participate in emergency response activities.
Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- HND in Process or Instrumentation Engineering. A Bachelor’s degree is also acceptable.
- Minimum of three years’ experience as a Process Technician in the oil and gas industry.
- NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.
- Knowledge of crude oil processing, Distributed Control Systems (DCS), P&IDs and LOTO procedures.
- FPSO experience will be an added advantage.
3. Maintenance Integrity Supervisor
Location: Offshore, Nigeria
Key Responsibilities
- Lead equipment integrity and corrosion management programmes.
- Monitor inspection activities and identify integrity risks.
- Develop risk-based maintenance strategies.
- Coordinate shutdown and non-shutdown integrity activities.
- Ensure compliance with safety and equipment integrity standards.
Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- HNC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Materials, Corrosion, Offshore/Marine or Structural Engineering. Bachelor’s degree holders may also apply.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience, including at least five years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of corrosion management, API 510, API 570, RBI methodologies and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT).
- Offshore or FPSO experience is preferred.
4. Mechanical Specialist
Location: Lagos (with regular offshore visits)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot complex equipment issues.
- Support maintenance planning and project execution.
- Mentor maintenance personnel.
- Improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- HND or City & Guilds Level 4 in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Bachelor’s degree holders are also eligible.
- Minimum of five years’ mechanical maintenance experience.
- NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.
- Experience with generators, pumps, compressors, HVAC systems and process valves.
- SAP/CMMS knowledge is required.
- FPSO experience is an added advantage.
5. Instrument Specialist
Location: Lagos (with regular offshore visits)
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and troubleshoot instrumentation systems.
- Support instrumentation maintenance programmes.
- Provide technical guidance across operations.
- Assist with training and knowledge transfer.
- Improve instrumentation reliability.
Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- HND or City & Guilds Level 4 in Instrumentation and Controls. Bachelor’s degree holders may also apply.
- Minimum of five years’ instrumentation experience.
- NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.
- Knowledge of DCS, PLCs, control valves, pressure, temperature and level instruments.
- FPSO experience is preferred.
6. Electrical Specialist
Location: Lagos (with regular offshore visits)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults.
- Support turnaround maintenance and capital projects.
- Mentor technical teams.
- Improve equipment reliability.
Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- HND or City & Guilds Level 4 in Electrical Engineering. Bachelor’s degree holders are also eligible.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in electrical maintenance.
- NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.
- Knowledge of HV/LV power systems, switchgear, motor drives, alternators, inverters and protection systems.
- FPSO experience is an advantage.
7. ICSR Specialist (Instrumentation, Control Systems and Cybersecurity)
Location: Lagos (with regular offshore visits)
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the security and reliability of Industrial Control Systems.
- Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments.
- Support vulnerability management and incident response.
- Implement cybersecurity controls across operational technology systems.
- Ensure compliance with industrial cybersecurity standards.
Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- HND or City & Guilds Level 4 in Instrumentation and Controls. Bachelor’s degree holders may also apply.
- Minimum of five years’ ICSR experience.
- NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.
- Strong knowledge of DCS, PLC, Emerson, Triconex, ESD and Fire & Gas systems.
- Experience with industrial cybersecurity and process safety.
- Previous FPSO experience is preferred.
General Requirements
Successful applicants should possess:
- Relevant academic qualifications for the selected role.
- Between three and ten years of relevant oil and gas industry experience, depending on the position.
- Valid NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate.
- Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Previous offshore or FPSO experience will be an added advantage across most positions.
