Tension as gunmen storm Oyo community, abduct students, school principal
Some armed men have reportedly attacked Ahoro-Esinele community in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, abducting an unspecified number of secondary school students.
Very Nigerian gathered that the incident occurred between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. when the gunmen stormed Community High School, Ahoro-Esinele.
A source in the community disclosed that the attackers also kidnapped the school principal, Mrs Rachael Alamu, while a teacher was reportedly shot during the attack.
The source also added that the suspects drove the principal away in her car and later escaped into a forest reserve that borders the community.
Speaking to our correspondent, the source said, “An unspecified number of students. We don’t know their number.
“The school principal, Mrs Rachel Alamu, was also abducted. They also shot a teacher in the school. I don’t know the sex of the teacher.
“The police station is far from that place. The nearest police station should be Ikoyi Division”.
Public Relations Officer of the State Police command, Olayinka Ayanlade, when contacted, confirmed that there was an attack in the community.
