BREAKING: Tinubu, Gov. Bala Mohammed holds closed-door talks in Aso Rock
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is currently holding a closed-door meeting with Bala Mohammed at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The Bauchi State governor is said to be at the State House to brief the President on the worsening security situation in parts of the state.
Sources indicated that Bala Mohammed updated the President on the activities of bandits in Alkaleri Local Government Area, describing the situation as disturbing and requiring urgent intervention.
Speaking to State House correspondents after the meeting, the governor also addressed recent political developments, particularly the wave of defections from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.
He said politicians who chose to defect had the constitutional right to join any political party of their choice.
However, the governor reaffirmed his commitment to remain in the opposition party despite the ongoing defections.
