The crash occurred at about 5pm on Friday and reportedly involved a truck and other vehicles.
The accident caused panic in the community as residents and motorists rushed to the scene to rescue victims and assist those trapped in the vehicles.
Sources in the area said several people were trapped following the crash, while many injured victims were evacuated and taken away from the scene for medical attention.
