The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has removed the acting Executive Chairman of the FCT Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), Michael Ango, from office.
The announcement was made in Abuja on Friday by Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media to the FCT Minister.
Although the statement did not disclose the reason for Ango’s sudden removal, the minister directed the most senior official in the agency to immediately assume leadership and oversee the running of the revenue service pending further directives.
Ango was appointed acting chairman in August 2024, taking over from Haruna Abdullahi, who had held the position in acting capacity for nearly three years.
