Wizkid tops Spotify Nigeria as most-streamed artiste of 2025

Wizkid has emerged as the most-streamed Nigerian artiste on Spotify for 2025, reaffirming his long-standing influence on the country’s music landscape and global streaming culture.

The global streaming platform released its highly anticipated 2025 ‘Wrapped’ report on Wednesday, showcasing the artistes, songs, and albums Nigerians listened to the most throughout the year.

Wizkid not only topped the overall artistes’ chart, but his latest album, Morayo, also secured the number-one spot as the most-streamed album in Nigeria, with Davido’s 5ive taking second place.

In the songs category, Davido and Omah Lay’s hit collaboration With You dominated the chart as the most-streamed track in the country, underlining both artistes’ continued grip on the Nigerian mainstream.

Burna Boy, meanwhile, maintained his position as Nigeria’s most-exported artiste, extending his run as one of the continent’s biggest cultural exports.

Ayra Starr continued her remarkable streak atop the ranking of most-streamed female artistes, marking yet another year of consistency.

Other women on the list include Tems, Smur Lee, Tiwa Savage, and gospel sensation Sunmisola Agbebi, highlighting the growing range and diversity of female voices in the Nigerian soundscape.

Wizkid’s dominance on Spotify comes on the heels of another major feat: Morayo was recently ranked the most-streamed album in Sub-Saharan Africa on Apple Music’s 2025 year-end chart, consolidating its status as one of the region’s biggest releases of the year.

Spotify also released detailed lists across categories, with Seyi Vibez, Asake, Burna Boy, ODUMODUBLVCK, Bnxn, FOLA, Davido, Rema, and Olamide ranking among the top ten most-streamed artistes.

In the album category, BNXN’s Captain, Burna Boy’s No Sign of Weakness, FOLA’s catharsis, Olamide’s Olamidé, and multiple Asake projects also featured prominently.

With Burna Boy, Tems, Rema, Ayra Starr, and Wizkid emerging as Nigeria’s top five most-exported artistes globally, the 2025 Wrapped statistics further underline Nigeria’s expanding global footprint and the enduring dominance of Afrobeats and its new hybrids across international markets.
