Yelwa gets Senate nod for second Four-Year tenure at N-HYPPADEC
The Senate has confirmed the reappointment of Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa for a second four-year term as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC).
The confirmation followed the consideration and adoption of the report submitted by the Senate Committee on Power, which conducted Yelwa’s screening.
Presenting the report, the Committee Chairman, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, said the nominee was found competent and qualified for reappointment based on his performance and experience.
Several lawmakers supported President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s decision to reappoint Yelwa, commending his previous contributions to the commission’s development goals.

When Senate President Godswill Akpabio put the motion to a voice vote, the senators unanimously approved Yelwa’s nomination for another term in office.
