2027: Court postpones suit challenging NDC candidates’ nomination to Sept 16
The Federal High Court in Lagos has adjourned until Wednesday, September 16, 2026, a suit challenging the nomination of candidates by the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 elections.
Justice D.E. Osiagor of the Lagos Judicial Division adjourned the case after counsel to the plaintiffs, Monday Mawah, asked the court to add the party’s nominee, Funsho Dorothy, as a defendant and allow amendments to the existing suit.
However, counsel to the NDC, D.D. Duru, opposed the application.
The court consequently fixed Wednesday, September 16, to decide whether Dorothy should be joined in the case.
The court is expected to determine the joinder application on Wednesday as the dispute over the NDC’s candidates continues.
