70% of Tinubu’s appointees were once his arch critic – Bwala
Presidential aide Daniel Bwala has disclosed that over 70 per cent of officials currently serving in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration were once his critics before the 2023 election.
Bwala, who spoke while responding to concerns about loyalty within the government, said many appointees occupying strategic positions did not support Tinubu during the campaign.
He explained that the President intentionally opted for an inclusive leadership style aimed at bringing together various political leanings.
According to him, the decision reflects Tinubu’s preference for competence over previous political disagreements, noting that the administration is focused on building a team capable of driving national priorities.
Bwala added that appointing former opponents was part of efforts to deepen national cohesion and ensure a diversity of viewpoints within government.
He urged Nigerians to pay attention to the performance of the administration rather than past political alignments, insisting that the government remains committed to its reform agenda.
