Terrorists invade Yobe community, kill one
Suspected members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) have attacked Madiya village in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State, leaving one resident dead and destroying property.
Multiple sources told counterinsurgency expert Zagazola Makama that the incident happened on December 2, 2025. According to the sources, the armed attackers arrived at about 11:50 pm and moved straight to the home of 50-year-old Umar Jalam. They shot him before setting his house on fire.
Security agencies are yet to release an official statement on the attack.
The attackers also burnt down a provision store and rustled nine cows and one tricycle belonging to the villagers.
The victim was certified dead at the General Hospital, Buni-Yadi.
Troops, in conjunction with vigilante groups and hunters, where said to have visited the scene and intensified efforts to apprehend the fleeing suspects and recover the stolen property.
