In coming days, Nigerians will Know the sponsors of terrorism — Presidency
The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, says the federal government is set to unveil the identities of individuals and networks bankrolling terrorism in Nigeria.
Speaking during a Television Continental (TVC) interview on Sunday, Bwala said the Tinubu administration is taking “far-reaching decisions” on national security, adding that the outcomes will become evident to Nigerians in the coming days.
He noted that terrorism has evolved into a global threat, stressing that international cooperation is now crucial in confronting extremist movements that have gradually shifted from the Middle East to the Sahel region.
“Since the wake of 9/11, terrorism became a global issue,” Bwala said.
“Any country grappling with terrorism automatically becomes the concern of the rest of the world. That is why it is in the interest of the international community to support Nigeria as we work to end this menace.”
According to him, the relocation of terror networks into the Sahel has created new hubs of instability, intensifying the need for stronger regional and global coordination.
“At home, the government is already making decisive interventions,” he added.
“In the coming days, Nigerians will know who the terrorists are and those financing their activities.”
Bwala’s comments come at a time when security agencies are ramping up efforts to dismantle cells responsible for kidnappings, bombings and other forms of violent extremism across the country.
