Grief in Niger State as Mahmud Abubakar, Etsu Nupe passes away
Mahmud Abubakar, the Sonfada Etsu Nupe, has died.
The governor of Niger State, Umaru Bago, has commiserated with the Etsu Nupe and chairman of the Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Yahaya Abubakar, over the death.
In a condolence message issued on Sunday through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, the governor described the passing as a “colossal loss” not only to the Nupe Kingdom but to the entire state.
He also extended condolences to the Bida Emirate and the immediate family of the deceased, praying for Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljanat Firdaus.
Bago urged the bereaved family to remain steadfast in prayers for the repose of the late Sonfada’s soul and to emulate his good deeds in service to humanity.
The governor further recalled the contributions of the late Mahmud Abubakar to the development of the Nupe Kingdom and Niger State, saying his legacy would continue to be remembered for years to come.
