“We cannot allow Peter Obi to fund the election alone” — Aisha Yesufu seeks donations for Obi-Kwankwaso

Political activist Aisha Yesufu has appealed to Nigerians to contribute financially towards the 2027 presidential campaign of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), insisting that the former Anambra State governor should not be left to shoulder the campaign’s financial responsibilities alone.

Yesufu made the appeal while calling on supporters to support Obi’s presidential ambition financially.

She also published bank account details through which interested Nigerians can make donations.

“We cannot allow Peter Obi to fund the election alone,” she said.

The fundraising appeal comes amid developments in Yesufu’s own political journey within the NDC.

She had contested for the party’s senatorial ticket but did not secure the nomination. She was also absent from the presidential campaign council recently unveiled by the party.

Despite missing out on both political positions, Yesufu has now publicly called for financial support for Obi’s presidential campaign.

Her appeal adds another dimension to the NDC’s preparations for the 2027 general election, particularly the effort to mobilise financial contributions from supporters.
