2027: Mammoth crowd welcomes Obi, Kwankwaso to Calabar for Town Hall meeting
A large crowd of residents has gathered in Calabar, Cross River State, as former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and his political ally, Rabiu Kwankwaso, hold a town hall meeting with residents.
The meeting is being held at the Metropolitan Hotel, where the venue was reportedly filled to capacity, leaving many attendees gathered outside the facility.
Journalists covering the event live from Calabar reported that the massive turnout caused congestion around the venue, with access roads blocked by people who had arrived to participate in or witness the engagement.
The gathering attracted a significant number of residents, many of whom struggled to gain access to the venue as the crowd extended beyond the hotel premises.
The town hall meeting provides an opportunity for Obi and Kwankwaso to interact with residents and discuss issues of concern as political activities ahead of the 2027 general election gather momentum.
The large turnout has drawn attention to the political engagement in the Cross River State capital.
